There are a lot of common errors in English can be encountered among my students, friends, colleagues and other Malaysians basically. Sometimes, I don't have the heart to tell them upfront as it might hurt their feelings. Besides, I don't want them to think that 'I think I'm too good' because I'm not that good and still learning. Hopefully, this blog will help us to correct our errors so that we can practise good & standard English together.

GROUP (PLURAL VS. SINGULAR)
BOTH ARE CORRECT!
When the group is being considered as a whole, it can be treated as a single entity: “the group was ready to go on stage.” But when the individuality of its members is being emphasized, “group” is plural: “the group were in disagreement about where to go for dinner.”
